Pulpit CommentaryVerse 28. - But it is good for me to draw near to God; or, "but as for me, nearness to God is my good" (Kay). Compare the well known hymn - "Nearer, my God, to thee,Nearer to thee;Even though it be a crossThat raiseth me;Still all my song shall be,Nearer, my God, to thee,Nearer to thee." I have put my trust in the Lord God; literally, in the Lord Jehovah (Adonai Jehovah) - an unusual combination. That I may declare all thy works. With the intention of ever hereafter declaring and magnifying all thy works.
