Alan Jackson

Alan Jackson is an American country music artist known for his neotraditional country style. He was the first country artist signed to Arista Records in 1989 and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Raised in a Christian household, Jackson was significantly influenced by gospel music and hymns from an early age. Jackson has recorded two gospel albums, *Precious Memories* (2006) and *Precious Memories Volume II* (2013). The original *Precious Memories* album was initially recorded as a personal gift for his mother and was not originally intended for commercial release. The album features traditional hymns including "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art," "In The Garden," "What a Friend We Have in Jesus," "There Is Power in the Blood," and "Blessed Assurance." *Precious Memories* topped both the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and the Billboard Top Country Albums chart. Jackson has publicly discussed his faith and the role of traditional hymns in his life and family.
