Anthony Brown

Anthony Jamar Brown was born on October 22, 1981, in Baltimore, Maryland. He is an urban contemporary gospel songwriter, singer, and pianist who performs with a vocal ensemble known as group therAPy. Brown studied piano and composition at Morgan State University, and his music is noted for blending traditional gospel with modern production and theatrical elements. Brown has served as a worship leader at First Baptist Church of Glenarden in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, since 2008. His recording career began in 2012 with the release of the album *Anthony Brown & group therAPy*. The group’s catalog includes albums such as *Everyday Jesus*, *A Long Way From Sunday*, and *2econd Wind: Ready*. The single "Worth" achieved RIAA Certified Gold status and later Platinum certification. The album *Everyday Jesus* topped the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. Anthony Brown & group therAPy received a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song for "Worth," and the group won 10 awards at a single annual Stellar Awards ceremony.
