Church of the City

Church of the City is a worship collective that emerged from a family of churches based in the Nashville, Tennessee area, founded in 2013 by Pastor Darren Whitehead. The music collective began in 2016 when artists and songwriters within the church started writing and recording songs together. Their music is characterized as worship, featuring a rotating cast of worship leaders and musicians rather than a fixed lineup. Key worship leaders associated with the collective include Chris McClarney, Jon Reddick, Brantley Pollock, Tasha Layton, Ileia Sheraé, and Laura Cooksey. The group has released multiple live projects, including EPs and singles, often recorded during church services. Their catalog includes songs such as "God Turn It Around" featuring Jon Reddick, "Joy Comes In The Morning" featuring Tasha Layton, and "He Lives" featuring Chris McClarney. Other releases from the collective include "Land Of The Living (You Don't Lie)" featuring Ileia Sheraé, "Overflow" featuring Laura Cooksey, and "Jesus Is Risen." The group also recorded a Spanish-language version of a song titled "La Bondad De Dios" featuring Ileia Sheraé.
