About Faith Mussa

Faith Ambudye Che Muphuwa Mussa was born on August 10, 1985, in Ndirande, Blantyre, Malawi. He is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist who began his career performing with his family's gospel group, the Mussa Family Band. His musical style is characterized as Afro-soul with gospel undertones. Often described as an "electronic one-man band," Mussa combines traditional Malawian sounds with modern production. He released his debut solo album, *Desperate*, and has recorded songs including "Mdidi," "Chimwana Changa," and "Ogode." He has also collaborated with artists such as Christafari on the song "IMIGONGO" and with Benjamin Dube on "Ulemelero." Mussa has performed at international festivals including Glastonbury, Sauti za Busara, and the Arts Festival of Northern Norway. His work has been recognized with several awards, including Best Male Singer at the Chirunga Awards in 2004, Best Single at the Nyasa Music Awards for "Mdidi" in 2017, and both Best Live Act and Best Afro-soul Artist/Group at the UMP Awards in 2018. Beyond his music career, Mussa is a teacher and a child rights activist who has collaborated with organizations such as UNICEF, UNFPA, and Plan International. He aims to use his music to advocate for disadvantaged children.
