Patrick Dopson

Patrick DeWayne Dopson, born August 24, 1978, is an American gospel musician, singer, and songwriter. His involvement in music ministry began at age seven in the church his father pastored in Selma, Alabama. He later founded his own publishing and record label, Oilonit Music, in 2003. Dopson has served as a pastor and as a director of worship at various ministries. He also contributed as a writer and singer on Fred Hammond’s Grammy Award-winning project, *Free to Worship*. His debut album, *Open the Heavens*, was released in 2012 and reached Billboard’s Gospel Albums and Heatseeker Albums charts. His catalog includes the singles “Keep Me,” “God Is,” “God Is Able,” “There is a Name,” and “Make It Alright,” which features John P. Kee. He was also a featured artist with Hezekiah Walker on the song “God Is For Me.” “Keep Me” became a Billboard Gospel hit and received a Stellar Award nomination, while “God Is” reached the top of the Billboard charts. Dopson has also been nominated for Dove Awards.
