Pulpit CommentaryVerse 59. - For he is a Galilaean. The strong provincial dialect of the fisherman of the Lake of Galilee at once told these Jerusalem Jews, accustomed to the peculiar pronunciation of the Galilee pilgrims at the Passover Feast, that the man whom they suspected certainly came from the same province as Jesus the Accused.

Ellicott's Commentary for English Readers(59) About the space of one hour after.--Literally, about one hour having intervened, the verb so rendered being peculiar to St. Luke in the New Testament (Luke 24:51; Acts 27:28).Confidently affirmed.--This word also is peculiar to St. Luke (Acts 12:15).
