About Bahati
Kevin Mbuvi Kioko, known professionally as Bahati, is a Kenyan musician who began his career in gospel music before transitioning to contemporary Afro-pop. He was born on December 22, 1994, in Makueni County, Kenya, and spent part of his childhood at the ABC Children's Home in Mathare, Nairobi.
Bahati began his music career in 2012 with the release of his debut single, "Siku ya Kwanza." He gained significant recognition in the Kenyan gospel music industry between 2013 and 2015. During this period, his work earned him the Groove Awards Male Artiste of the Year in 2014 and the AFRIMMA Best Gospel Artist in Africa award in the same year.
In 2015, Bahati founded the record label EMB (Eastlands Most Beloved) to support local talent. His catalog includes songs such as "Nikumbushe" featuring Rayvanny, "Barua," "Mama," "Machozi," and "Pete Yangu" featuring Nadia Mukami. He also released the album "Love Like This." Bahati has since publicly announced his transition from gospel music to contemporary Afro-pop. He is married to Diana Marua, and they have children together.
