About Bony Mwaitege
Bony Mwaitege (born Boniphace Patson Mwaitege in July 1983) is a Tanzanian gospel artist, songwriter, and pastor. Born in Mwakaleli, Mbeya, Tanzania, he was the eldest of thirteen children. Before establishing his music career, he worked in various professions, including fishing, mining, and as a barber.
His early career in gospel music included working as a dancer and backup vocalist for gospel artist Ephraim Mwansasu. In 2006, he founded the Safina Assemblies of God church in Dar es Salaam. He released his debut album, *Utanitambuaje*, in 2007. Mwaitege is also a motivational speaker.
His catalog of gospel songs includes *Mama ni Mama*, *Tunapendwa Na Mungu*, *Sisi Sote*, *Neema Imenibeba*, *Mke Mwema*, *Njoo Ufanyiwe Maombi*, and *Rekebisha Ulipokosea*. In 2014, he was nominated for the Groove Awards East Africa's Best Male Artist.
