About Colton Dixon
Colton Dixon (born Michael Colton Dixon on October 19, 1991) is an American singer-songwriter from Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He gained national attention as a finalist on the eleventh season of *American Idol* in 2012, where he placed seventh. Following his time on the show, he launched a career in Christian music, releasing music that blends pop, rock, and electronic influences with faith-based lyrical themes.
His debut album, *A Messenger* (2013), reached No. 1 on the Billboard Christian Albums chart and set the record for the biggest first-week sales by a new solo Christian act in 2013. The album earned him the Dove Award for Best Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year. He followed this success with his second album, *Anchor*, which won the Dove Award for Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year in 2015. The single "More of You" became the most played Hot AC single of 2014 and spent three weeks at No. 1.
Dixon has toured with major Christian artists including TobyMac, Third Day, and Casting Crowns. He is also a Steinway & Sons artist. His catalog includes songs such as "Build a Boat," "Miracles," "Made To Fly," "All That Matters," "Never Enough," "Through All Of It," and "Never Gone."
