About Jordan Smith

Jordan Mackenzie Smith was born on November 4, 1993, in Harlan, Kentucky. He began singing in his church choir at the House of Mercy in Wallins Creek, Kentucky. He later attended Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where he was a member of the Lee University Singers. Smith gained national recognition in 2015 as the winner of season 9 of the singing competition *The Voice*. He was the first artist of his season on the show to reach No. 1 in sales of pop songs on the iTunes Store. A singer, songwriter, and musician who plays piano and guitar, his musical genres include pop, contemporary Christian, and gospel. In 2022, he represented Kentucky in the *American Song Contest*, finishing in third place. Smith has released multiple studio albums, including *Something Beautiful* (2016) and *The People's Hymnal* (2025). His 2025 album, *The People's Hymnal*, was produced by Tommy Sims and Colin Linden. His catalog includes songs such as "Only Love," "Great You Are," "So Many Reasons," "One Kiss From Heaven," "Battles," "Angels We Have Heard (Glory Be)," "Don't Quit," and "Stand In The Light." His recording of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" reached No. 1 on the Christian Songs chart for two weeks. He also held the top two positions on Billboard's Christian charts simultaneously.
