Feel Good

Jordan Smith stacks bright, boastful images in the opening lines: sun on his face, good vibes every day, "the whole world spinning in my hands." The second verse doubles down on that confidence with "ain't no clouds gonna make it rain" and "ain't no hill that I can't climb," and the chorus keeps repeating the same invitation for everybody to feel good.

Calendar language carries the hook, as every day becomes Christmas and every night becomes New Year's Eve. Midway, the mood shifts from general cheer to church-flavored praise. "We're preaching in the streets," he sings, and a march-along section keeps asking "Can I get a Hallelujah?" so the crowd can answer back.

That call-and-response is where the song's roots show. Its gladness echoes the psalmist's declaration that "this is the day the Lord has made," and Paul's instruction to rejoice always. Joy here is meant to be shared out loud, in the open, with a Hallelujah attached.
