About Kim Burrell

Kim Burrell is an American gospel singer, songwriter, and pastor. Born Kimberly Jean Burrell on August 26, 1972, in Houston, Texas, she is the daughter of a pastor and an evangelist singer. She began her musical career performing with the Greater Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C. Choir in Houston. Burrell is known for incorporating jazz and pop elements into her gospel music. She has been a featured vocalist on recordings with the Gospel Music Workshop of America Youth Choir and the Trinity Temple Full Gospel Mass Choir. Her discography includes the albums *Try Me Again* (1997), *Everlasting Life* (1998), *Live in Concert* (2001), *No Ways Tired* (2009), *The Love Album* (2011), and *A Different Place* (2015). Her catalog also includes songs such as "I Come to You More Than I Give" and "Victory." *Everlasting Life* peaked at number ten on the Billboard Gospel Charts. Burrell was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Soul Gospel Album in 2002 for *Live in Concert*. Beyond her recording career, she established and hosts the annual Ephesians 4 conference, a workshop for performing artists, and is the founder of The Legend Vocal Academy.
