About Mac Powell
Mac Powell was born on December 25, 1972, in Clanton, Alabama. He co-founded the Christian rock band Third Day after moving to Atlanta, Georgia, during high school. For nearly three decades, he served as the band’s lead singer, a tenure that included four Grammy Awards, 24 Dove Awards, one American Music Award, and an induction into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame.
Following his time with Third Day, Powell has continued his music and ministry work as a solo Christian artist. He released the solo album *New Creation* in 2021, which debuted at No. 1 on the Top Christian & Gospel album chart. He followed that with the album *I Love Jesus* in 2024. His solo catalog includes songs such as “River of Life,” “New Creation,” “The 99,” “Be Praised,” “I Love Jesus,” and “Good News.”
Powell is currently a worship leader at The Church of The Apostles in Atlanta, Georgia. He is married to his wife, Aimee, and they have children. With over 30 years of involvement in ministry and music, his work continues to reflect a commitment to faith-based songwriting and worship.
