Matt Maher

Matt Maher (born Matthew Guion Maher, November 10, 1974) is a Canadian-born contemporary Christian music artist, songwriter, and worship leader based in the United States. A practicing Roman Catholic, he studied jazz piano at Arizona State University and earned a music degree. For over a decade, Maher served as a music minister at St. Timothy's Parish in Mesa, Arizona, and has performed at multiple World Youth Day festivals. He signed with Essential Records in 2007 and released his major-label debut album, *Empty & Beautiful*, in 2008. Maher is known for his ecumenical approach to worship music and has collaborated with various Christian artists across different denominations. His catalog includes well-known songs such as "Lord I Need You," "Your Grace Is Enough," "Christ Is Risen," "Because He Lives (Amen)," "All The People Said Amen," "Alive and Breathing," "Run To The Father," and "The Lord's Prayer (It's Yours)." A nine-time Grammy Award nominee, Maher is also a five-time GMA Dove Award winner. He was awarded Songwriter of the Year at the 2015 GMA Dove Awards.
