Ricky Rydell Dillard was born on February 25, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, and is a gospel songwriter, singer, and choir director. He began his music career in 1987, initially working in Chicago house music before transitioning to the gospel music scene. In 1988, he founded the New Generation Chorale, commonly known as New G, and is frequently referred to as "The Choirmaster" for his work with gospel choirs.
Dillard has released numerous albums that have appeared on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart, including titles such as *The Promise*, *A Holy Ghost Take-Over*, and *Choirmaster*. His catalog includes songs like "Consider It Done," "Hand of The Lord," "Glad To Be In The Service," "Release," and "Never Failed Me Yet."
