About Sinach
Sinach, born Osinachi Kalu on March 30, 1973, in Ebonyi State, Nigeria, is a Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader. She began her music career as a member of the church choir at Christ Embassy under the mentorship of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, where she now serves as a senior worship leader. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Port Harcourt.
A prolific songwriter with over 200 songs to her credit, Sinach has performed in more than 50 countries. Her catalog includes well-known worship anthems such as "Way Maker," "I Know Who I Am," "Great Are You Lord," "The Name of Jesus," "Rejoice," "He Did It Again," "Simply Devoted," and "There's An Overflow."
Sinach made history as the first singer-songwriter to top the Billboard Christian Songwriter chart for 12 consecutive weeks. Her song "Way Maker" won Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards, making her the first Nigerian to receive the honor. She is also a winner of the BMI Song of the Year award and was inducted into the Bethlehem Hall of Fame in 2017.
Sinach is married to Joseph Egbu, and they have a child. She is the founder of the Joseph and Sinach Foundation, which provides medical support to communities in Nigeria.
