Travis Cottrell

Travis Cottrell is an American contemporary Christian music artist, songwriter, author, and worship leader. Raised in Boone, North Carolina, he studied music at Belmont University in Nashville, graduating in 1992. Cottrell has served as a worship pastor at multiple churches, including Two Rivers Baptist Church, Englewood Baptist Church, and Brentwood Baptist Church. For 25 years, he served as the worship leader for Beth Moore’s "Living Proof Live" conferences. He has also written and recorded with artists across various genres, including Amy Grant, Garth Brooks, and Alan Jackson, and has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the Kennedy Center, and Abbey Road. His recorded catalog includes the albums *Spirit Rise*, *Jesus Saves Live*, and *The Reason*. Songs in his catalog include "King of Kings," "Love Lifted Me," "The Kindness of the Cross," "Jesus' Blood," and "Oh My Soul." Cottrell has received 26 Dove Award nominations and has won twice. Three of his projects have peaked at number one on the Christian music charts. In 2013, he received the Encore Award from Belmont University. He is also the author of several books, including *Surprised By Worship*. He and his wife, Angela, have three children.
