What A Beautiful Name / Agnus Dei (Medley)

Travis Cottrell's medley opens where John's gospel does, not at the manger: "you were the Word at the beginning, one with God the Lord Most High," naming Christ's identity before turning to what He did with it. "You didn't want heaven without us, so, Jesus, you brought heaven down" reframes the incarnation as a decision made for company, not obligation.

The bridge moves from birth to resurrection in four lines—"death could not hold you, the veil tore before you, you silenced the boast of sin and grave"—before landing on a claim borrowed almost directly from Philippians: "yours is the name above all names." "You have no rival, you have no equal" keeps repeating not because the song runs out of ideas, but because the point is the repetition itself.

The Agnus Dei section shifts the song from narrative to direct address, quoting Revelation's throne-room cry outright: "worthy is the Lamb, worthy is the Lamb"—closing not on an argument for who Jesus is, but on straightforward worship of Him.
