Usiyeshindwa - mataifa yote yanakufahamu
"Usiyeshindwa" is Swahili for "the One who cannot be defeated/overcome," and the song's structure repeats a single claim across widening groups — "mataifa yote" (all nations), "makabila yote" (all tribes), "kanisa lako" (your church) — each said to "know" this about God. That progression echoes Habakkuk 2:14's promise that "the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea," knowledge of God spreading outward rather than staying contained to one group. The underlying claim — that no purpose of God's can be defeated — reflects Job 42:2's conclusion at the end of Job's story: "I know that you can do all things, and that no purpose of yours can be thwarted." The song's own translation, included in the lyrics, renders the title simply: "the God who never fails."
Kuwa wewe ni Mungu usiyeshindwa
Chorus:
Usiyeshindwa, usiyeshindwa
Wewe ni Mungu usiyeshindwa
Makabila yote, yanakufahamu
Kuwa wewe ni Mungu usiyeshindwa
Na kanisa lako, linakufahamu
Kuwa wewe ni Mungu usiyeshindwa
All nations know you as the God who never fails.
