About Audrey Assad

Audrey Nicole Assad was born on July 1, 1983, in Secaucus, New Jersey. An American-Syrian singer-songwriter and pianist, she was raised in a fundamentalist Christian community known as the Plymouth Brethren. Her professional music career began in the Contemporary Christian Music (CCM) genre. Assad has released six studio albums and four EPs since the start of her career. Her album *The House You're Building* was named the Christian and Gospel Breakthrough Album of the Year on iTunes and was included on Amazon.com's list of Best Christian Music of 2010. Her catalog also includes the albums *Heart*, *Evergreen*, and *Feel It All*. Among the songs she has recorded are "Wood and Nails," "It Is Well With My Soul," "Nothing To Fear," and "I Shall Not Want." Throughout her career, she has toured and collaborated with artists such as Chris Tomlin, Matt Maher, and Jars of Clay. In her 20s, Assad converted to Catholicism, and she has publicly discussed her journey of faith deconstruction.
