About Jokia Music

Jokia Williams, known professionally as Jokia Music, is an American gospel singer, songwriter, and musician. Born in Compton, California, and raised in Killeen, Texas, she is a U.S. Army veteran who served for eight years, including a deployment to Iraq. It was during her military service that she converted to Christianity. A guitar player, Jokia Music blends elements of R&B and Christian rock into her gospel sound. Her songwriting and artistic mission are informed by her background in counseling, as she holds a Master’s degree in the field, as well as by her ministry work as a worship team leader and youth Sunday school teacher. She is married to Benjamin Williams and is the mother of two daughters. Her catalog includes the EPs "Not Forgotten" and "Love Gospel," as well as songs such as "Rise," "Brand New," and "Amen." Her single "Yahweh" reached number one on the Billboard Gospel National Airplay chart, and the follow-up "Let Him In" also reached number one on the Billboard Gospel Airplay chart.
