Melvin Crispell III

Melvin Crispell III is a gospel singer and songwriter who rose to national prominence after winning Season 9 of the BET competition *Sunday Best* in 2019. Born in 1998 in Charlotte, North Carolina, he is the son of the late gospel composer Melvin Crispell Jr. and the late gospel singer Tunesha Crispell. His music often explores themes of faith and perseverance through personal loss, carrying forward a message that there is "no failure in God." Crispell released his debut studio album, *I've Got a Testimony*, in 2020. His sophomore album, *No Failure*, was recorded live at Springcreek Church in Garland, Texas, and released in 2023. His catalog includes songs such as "Alright," "God Is," "Yesterday," and "The Blessing" featuring Maranda Curtis. His single "Wonderful Is Your Name" became a #1 hit on the Billboard Gospel Digital Song Sales chart. Crispell has also received multiple nominations for Grammy, Stellar, and Dove Awards.
