About Brandon Lake

Brandon Lake (born June 21, 1990) is an American contemporary Christian singer-songwriter and guitarist who serves as a worship pastor at Seacoast Church in Charleston, South Carolina. He is a former member of the Bethel Music and Maverick City Music collectives. Lake began his recording career in 2015 with a crowdfunding campaign that led to his 2016 debut album, *Closer*. His music is characterized by its focus on worship and Christian themes. Lake has collaborated with numerous Christian artists, including Brooke Ligertwood, Phil Wickham, and Cody Carnes. His catalog includes songs such as "Gratitude," "Honey in The Rock" (with Brooke Ligertwood), "This Is a Move," "Graves into Gardens" (with Elevation Worship), "Praise You Anywhere," "Hard Fought Hallelujah," "House of Miracles," and "Coat of Many Colors." In 2025, he released the album *King of Hearts*. Lake has achieved significant success on Billboard's Christian and Gospel charts. He won the GMA Dove Award for "Gospel Worship Recorded Song of the Year" in 2019 for "This Is a Move." In 2022, he won a Grammy Award for "Best Contemporary Christian Music Album" for *Old Church Basement*. He won "Top Christian Song" at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards for "Gratitude" and was named Billboard's leading artist in the "Top Christian Artist - Male" category for 2023. He also won multiple 2023 GMA Dove Awards, including "Artist of the Year" and "Songwriter-Artist of the Year."
