About Kierra Sheard
Kierra Sheard is an American gospel singer, songwriter, and licensed evangelist. She was born Kierra Valencia "Kiki" Sheard-Kelly on June 20, 1987, in Detroit, Michigan, to gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard and Bishop J. Drew Sheard. She began singing in her father’s church at the age of six and gained early recognition for her performance on her mother’s 1997 album, *Finally Karen*.
Sheard released her debut album, *I Owe You*, in 2004. The album made history as the first debut album to enter Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums chart at No. 1. Her 2020 album, *Kierra*, also debuted at No. 1 on the same chart. Her catalog includes songs such as “It Keeps Happening,” “Praise Through,” and the album *All Yours*. She has also collaborated with Tasha Cobbs Leonard on tracks including “Something Has To Break,” “Put A Praise on It,” “Your Spirit,” and “You Must Break.”
Beyond her music career, Sheard is a licensed evangelist in the Church of God in Christ (COGIC), having begun preaching in 2013. She portrayed her mother, Karen Clark Sheard, in the 2020 Lifetime biographical film *The Clark Sisters: First Ladies of Gospel*. She is also the founder of the fashion line Eleven60, has authored devotional books, and leads a women’s ministry called SistHer.
