McClurkin builds this almost entirely out of one instruction repeated in different keys — "wait, wait, wait on the Lord" — which is Psalm 27:14 stated as a command and then sung back as reassurance rather than a burden. "Wait on the Lord, be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart" lifts Psalm 27:14 nearly word for word, while "He shall renew your strength" pulls in Isaiah 40:31's picture of those who wait rising up on wings like eagles instead of growing weary.
