About Kurt Carr

Kurt Carr, an American gospel music composer, songwriter, producer, and singer, was born on October 12, 1964. He earned a fine-arts degree from the University of Connecticut, where he studied classical voice and piano. From 1986 until 1991, he served as the pianist and musical director for Reverend James Cleveland. In 1992, Carr founded the GospoCentric record label. He is known for his ensemble, The Kurt Carr Singers, which is featured on his albums. He has served as a Minister of Music at The First Baptist Church of Hartford and as a Praise and Worship leader at The Fountain of Praise in Houston, Texas. Carr’s catalog includes songs such as “I Almost Let Go,” “For Every Mountain,” “In the Sanctuary,” “Bless Somebody Else (Dorothy’s Song),” “Blessing After Blessing,” “I’ve Seen Him Do It,” “Awesome Wonder,” and “No One Else.” His work has earned him recognition with at least four Stellar Awards.
