Wess Morgan

Wess Morgan, born Joel Wesley Morgan on September 5, 1973, is an American gospel musician and pastor. He was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, by his parents, Pastors Joseph and Yolanda Morgan. His music is noted for themes of redemption, praise, and spiritual recovery, often drawing from his personal testimony of overcoming substance abuse. Morgan began his music career in 2006 with the release of his debut album, *Look at Me Now*. He has since released the album *Under an Open Heaven, Vol. 1*, which charted on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. His song catalog includes "I Choose to Worship," "Tears," "You Paid It All," "Get Me Through," "Why Can't We Love," and "Churchy." Beyond his music, Morgan founded the record label Bowtie World Music and established the REPRE Foundation, a nonprofit organization focused on drug and alcohol prevention and recovery. He also appeared as a cast member in Tyler Perry's stage play *Laugh to Keep from Crying*. His song "I Choose to Worship" was nominated for a Stellar Award for Song of the Year and was recognized as BMI's Gospel Song of the Year.
