Dancing on the Waves

Bethel Music and We The Kingdom's “Dancing on the Waves” is written from God's point of view, speaking to someone worn out. “I'm standing at your door, my heart is calling yours, come fall into my arms, you're weary from it all.” The line “I'm reaching out, I'll chase you down” follows, along with the challenge, “I dare you to believe how much I love you now.”

The chorus gives the invitation its title: “Don't be afraid, I am your strength, we'll be walking on the water, dancing on the waves.” The second verse promises a new start: “Your past is dead and gone, your healing has begun, I'm making all things new.” In the bridge, God says, “I'll turn your sorrow into shouting, I'll turn your fear into faith,” then recalls setting “every star into place so you would remember my name.” The singer ends by saying, “You are my masterpiece, you are the reason I sing.”

Walking on the water is Matthew 14:29. Being called by name is Isaiah 43:1, and making all things new is Revelation 21:5.
