Heaven's Song

Bethel Music's “Heaven's Song” invites a congregation to sing together with the worship that is already going on in heaven. The opening says that we have come as one heart and one voice, to join heaven's endless song on the earth, and lifts adoration toward the throne.

The verse names the one being praised. Praises rise and songs of love ascend for the King and the Lamb, who gave his life to save us. In the chorus the room joins the cry of heaven, “Holy, Holy, Holy” and “Worthy, Worthy, Worthy, for You were crucified.” The song describes the scene of the living creatures calling out and the elders falling down, and it follows with the church's own offering, a sacrifice of living praise. It states that God has beckoned his people into a holy place of love and presence, and that they stand in wondrous awe with holy hands and lifted hearts, eyes on the Savior. The bridge is a repeated invitation to worship, followed by a final burst of blessing, honor, power, glory and wisdom. The lyric draws on the book of Revelation closely, and its aim is to make the congregation aware that they are not alone in praise. It fits the start of a service or an extended time of worship.
