Ya No Soy Esclavo

Bethel Music's "Ya No Soy Esclavo" is the Spanish rendering of "No Longer Slaves," and its central claim is direct and repeated without much decoration: "ya no soy un esclavo del temor, yo soy hijo de Dios" — I am no longer a slave to fear, I am a son of God. The song states an identity change rather than describing a feeling.

"Desde el vientre fuí escogido en Ti... de nuevo nací, recibido en Ti, Tu sangre en mi fluyó" — from the womb I was chosen in You, I was born again, received in You, Your blood flowed in me — leans directly on Paul's language in Romans, that believers haven't received a spirit of slavery leading back to fear, but a Spirit of adoption, making them sons and daughters who can call God Father.

"Abriste el mar para que yo camine, Tu amor ahogó todo el temor" — You opened the sea so I could walk, Your love drowned all the fear — reaches back to the Exodus, using the same picture of impossible deliverance to describe an inner rescue from fear. "Me rescataste y hoy yo cantaré" closes each verse on the same note: rescued, and therefore singing.
