This Is The Day

A spoken welcome opens the live track: "This is a celebration! These songs up top were meant to be easy so we could sing them together." Brian Courtney Wilson quotes Psalm 118:24 before the singing starts, "this is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it," and asks the room, "do you have joy?"

The sung verse turns the psalm into a vow: "Whatever happens, I will give You praise. You brought me out of darkness, and You are with me all the way." A line in the chorus explains the choice behind it, "I will rejoice, God gave new mercy, so I've made my choice to live for Him and bless His name," which recalls Lamentations 3:23 and Psalm 34:1.

A short stretch repeats time words, "every second, every minute, every hour that I'm in it, I will always remember, this is the day that the Lord has made." The bridge adds what comes with that attitude, "joy overflowing, peace in knowing, no matter what might come my way," in line with Philippians 4:7. The song ends by returning to the title line and the crowd.
