CityAlight builds the first half of this pairing entirely out of conditional sentences — 'Jesus said that if I thirst,' 'if I am weak,' 'if I fear' — each one answered the same way: 'I should come to him.' It's a deliberately repetitive structure, closer to a catechism than a typical worship-song build, and it leans directly on John 6:35's claim that Jesus alone satisfies hunger and thirst that nothing else can touch.

The chorus names what all three conditions share — 'the Lord is good and faithful, He will keep us day and night' — before the song folds into 'Jesus Loves Me,' the nineteenth-century children's hymn, without changing key or tone. That transition is the real idea here: the same assurance a child learns from 'the Bible tells me so' is treated as identical, not simpler, than the strength an adult needs against fear or weakness. Mark 10:14's insistence that the kingdom belongs to children isn't quoted, but it's the reason pairing these two songs works instead of feeling like a mismatch.
