My God Is All I Need / My God Is So Big

CityAlight joins two songs in “My God Is All I Need / My God Is So Big.” The first part describes a dark road. “Dark, dark is the valley, faint the light at my feet, but whatever may face me, my God is all I need.” The next verse sets it against good times: “Bright, bright are the treasures life may offer to me, but whatever the pleasure,” the same line holds.

The chorus lists what God gives in need. “He is my strength when I cannot go on, peace when all my power is gone, hope although the night is long and deep.” It continues, “He is my song, for He has rescued me, joy now He has set me free.” The third verse considers the short length of life, “Brief, brief are my days here,” and says God “has met my need.” The medley then moves into a children's favorite, “My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there's nothing my God cannot do.”

God meeting every need is Philippians 4:19. A help in trouble is Psalm 46:1, and nothing being too hard for him is Jeremiah 32:17.
