It's Christmastime

Evvie McKinney's holiday track leans into the sensory rush of December — snow on the pavement, lights strung through bare trees, bells carrying through the air — and treats the season as something close to enchantment. The verses stay domestic and warm: family crowded into a living room, laughter bouncing off the walls, wrapped gifts waiting under the tree, favorite records spinning from morning till night. The chorus keeps returning to a single line, repeated until it becomes a refrain the listener can join, and pairs it with the image of a silent night suddenly lit up, a nod to the nativity story folded into a pop celebration. The bridge widens the frame beyond the house, asking for joy and celebration, peace across nations, and hope planted in every heart, then pushes further toward songs in place of sorrow and brighter days ahead for whoever is listening. It's a straightforward, upbeat Christmas song rather than a reflective one — the theology sits lightly inside the festive imagery, and the emotional center is communal gladness rather than quiet awe. The closing repetitions of the title land like a cheer, leaving the track on the sound of a room full of people agreeing that the season has arrived.
