Look To The Lamb

Jesus Culture sing “Look To The Lamb” as a statement about who Christ is. It begins with exclusive claims: “There's only one Name that is worthy, there's only one King on the throne. He is the light of our salvation, all praise belongs to Him alone.” The second verse says there is “only one way to the Father” and one love that melts a heart of stone.

The chorus directs the listener's eyes: “See the Son of God, the Savior crucified. See the crown of thorns, the nails, His wounded side.” It then shifts to the risen Christ, “forever glorified,” with love and “fire in His eyes.” The verse after that names him the Alpha and Omega who “was and is and is to come” and who will return “to shouts of glory.” The bridge borrows heavily from the vision of heaven, with elders bowing, creatures crying, saints and angels glorifying, and a description of eyes like fire and a voice like many waters. The whole song builds to the line, “Worthy is the Lamb,” and ends with the statement that this will be the song forever. It is a strong choice for a service that wants to focus on adoration of Christ.

The Lamb who is worthy is Revelation 5:12. The Alpha and Omega is Revelation 1:8, and Jesus as the only way to the Father is John 14:6.
