Meet Jesus

Jonny Diaz answers a real objection rather than dismissing it in "Meet Jesus" — "I've heard you say how can Jesus be good when so much bad is done in his name, I must admit we can be hypocrites, and at times I have felt just the same." The song concedes the complaint before responding to it.

"From the scandals to the crusades, when a church screams what God hates, it feels like more hurt than love" names specific historical failures rather than a vague acknowledgment, and "if you could just meet Jesus, you wouldn't find religion, you'd feel something different moving in your heart" draws a sharp line between institutional failure and the person the song is actually pointing to.

"His fingers don't point and his love don't divide, he seeks out all the ones left behind, he stands up for justice and mercy" lists specific character traits rather than a generic claim of goodness, closing on "he'd pull you so close, he'd never let go" as the actual encounter the whole song has been building toward.
