No Weapon

A shield opens the song: "You are a shield around me, You are the one who lifts my head," lines that follow Psalm 3:3. The singer says she is "always safe in Your covering" and that she will "remember what You said," so the rest of the song is built on a promise being recalled, not on a feeling.

The chorus restates Isaiah 54:17 in a short run: "No weapon formed, no spear or sword, no evil word will prosper, for I am Yours, I stand secure, I know Your word is higher." A verse adds what God does after the attack: "You will restore what's stolen, You will see that the harvest comes," close to Joel 2:25's promise to repay the years the locust ate, and "You speak the promise, then it's done."

The bridge turns to prayer-like repetition. "I plead the blood, I plead the blood of Jesus; I speak the blood, I speak the blood of Jesus" leans on Revelation 12:11, where the Lamb's blood overcomes. Another list begins every line with "Your word above it all," then "Your voice," "Your ways," "Your will," "Your truth" and "Your heart," before the chorus returns.
