Song Meaning

A string of plain declarations carries Point of Grace's "I Believe In You (Dedication Song)": angels, love, sunsets, prayer, and eventually Jesus and God. The verses speak straight to someone standing at a decision point, urging them to "give your heart though it might make you a fool," to refuse to settle, and to "find a love that loves you strong and kind."

The chorus turns that encouragement into a promise that a day will come when the listener finds "what you've been dreaming of," whatever road they choose: "Draw or win or lose... I believe in you." A bridge slows into a farewell, "When it's time to let you go / You're in my heart and in my soul," which reads like a parent or mentor releasing someone into a life of their own. By the last chorus the faith under all that confidence is spoken outright, "I believe in Jesus, I believe in God," and hope rests on "someone out there who cares."

That last phrase echoes 1 Peter 5:7, where believers are told to cast their anxieties on God because he cares for them, and Romans 15:13 prays for the God of hope to fill people with joy and peace as they believe. As a dedication song, it fits the moment someone is being sent into a new chapter.

[Verse 1]
Give your heart though it might make you a fool
Go reach out and break some of the ruse
Don’t settle, hold out for something more
Find the truth that you’ve been searching for

Let your eyes show what’s in your soul
And let your hands say you’re not alone
Find a love that loves you strong and kind
Change the world with what is deep inside

[Chorus]
I believe in angels, I believe in love
I believe there’ll come a time you’ll find what you’ve been dreaming of
Draw or win or lose, whatever road you choose
I believe in you

[Verse 2]
Find yourself though you weren’t even lost
Be who you are and don’t be who you’re not
Take a stand, don’t linger on the fence
With careful stance but lingered consequence

[Chorus]
I believe in angels (I believe in angels)
I believe in love (I believe in love)
I believe there’ll come a time you’ll find what you’ve been dreaming of
I believe in sunsets, I believe in prayer
I believe there’s hope ‘cause there’s someone out there who cares
Draw or win or lose, whatever road you choose
I believe in you

I believe in you

[Bridge]
When it’s time to let you go
You’re in my heart and in my soul
And more than anything
I hope you know

[Chorus]
I believe in Jesus, I believe in God
I believe there’ll come a time you’ll find what you’ve been dreaming of (dreaming of)
I believe in sunsets, I believe in prayer
I believe there’s hope ‘cause there’s someone out there who cares
Draw or win or lose, whatever road you choose
I believe in you

[Outro]
I believe in you
I believe in you
