The Wonder Of It All

Two a.m. and no sleep: Point of Grace starts "The Wonder of It All" at a very specific hour, with someone watching the clock and a voice that says "I have been there too." From that shared ground the verse turns to "healing in the hand of God," a hand that will "even touch someone like you." The second verse carries the same pastoral tone to a different trouble, "a cloud upon your soul," and advises, "Don't be afraid to say the name."

The pre-chorus faces the common assumption that "something wonderful never comes easy" and answers with the cross: "There is power in the cross to heal us / There is freedom in the blood that Jesus offered to you / So freely." The chorus then invites the listener to "feel the wonder of it all," letting heart and mind receive "an answer to the call," and the parenthetical "(the answer is Jesus)" spells out what that answer is.

Isaiah 53:5 ("by his wounds we are healed") stands behind the cross verse, Psalm 147:3 speaks of God binding up the brokenhearted, and Romans 10:13 matches the plea to call on His name. A line about the more you give, the more of his love returns, softens the song with a note of generosity before the final chorus.
