No Height No Depth

Shane & Shane's "No Height No Depth" builds its whole structure around a single verse from Romans, repeated so many times across the song that it starts to function less like a lyric and more like a fact being memorized: "no height, no depth, no power that comes against can separate me from Your love." Paul's original language is almost untouched.

The verses ground that promise in real weakness rather than abstract confidence — "when I don't have the words to say... when I am broken, I am weak" and "when I don't understand the hurt... when I am fighting to believe." The song doesn't pretend doubt or exhaustion disqualify anyone from the promise; if anything, that's exactly the condition the promise was written for.

"Minute after minute, hour after hour, Your love pursues me, it won't relent" shifts the emphasis from the singer holding onto God to God actively pursuing the singer instead — not a fragile grip that might slip, but a love described as the one doing the chasing. By the final repetitions, stripped down to just "no height, no depth, no power," the song has said everything it needs to and simply keeps saying it.
