[Chorus]
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
[Verse 1]
I feel like just letting go
Life out here is mighty rough
All these things I can't control
Got me by the stranglehold
[Chorus]
It's so hard for us to deal with the harsh reality
That can take us to a place where we never want to be
But in time all things are healed
Keep your head up, don't give in
'Cause in just a little while
Everything will be alright
[Verse 2]
Said it's my turn, but you don't notice me yet
What you see is what you're gonna get
No, I won't change, and if I'm acting insane
Then I'm playing in the key of what you want me to be
[Chorus]
It's so hard for us to deal with the harsh reality
That can take us to a place where we never want to be
But in time all things are healed
Keep your head up, don't give in
'Cause in just a little while
Everything will be alright
[Outro]
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright
Everything is gonna be alright

Song Meaning
A reassurance repeated until it settles into the bones, this song circles one promise — that everything is gonna be alright — while naming the weight that makes the promise necessary. The opening verse admits a wish to simply let go, describing life as "mighty rough" and confessing that uncontrollable things have a stranglehold. Rather than skipping past that pain, the chorus sits with the harsh reality that can drag a person somewhere they never wanted to be, then answers it with a turn: in time all things are healed. The counsel is plain and physical — keep your head up, don't give in — and the timeline is deliberately modest, just a little while. A second verse shifts to a more personal defiance, someone insisting this is their turn even if no one has noticed yet, refusing to change and owning an oddness as playing in the key others expect. The outro simply repeats the title line four times, letting it function less as argument than as a mantra for anyone still in the rough stretch.
