Love Is Here

Tenth Avenue North opens with an invitation lifted almost word for word from Isaiah 55:1 — "come to the waters, you who thirst" — offered to anyone who has been working for something that never satisfies. Love Is Here builds its whole first half on that kind of direct address: come to the Father, come to the treasure, come to the lover — each line naming a specific hunger before answering it.

The chorus locates that love in a body, not an idea — "pouring from His hands, from His brow," "streams of mercy flowing from His side" — imagery that points straight at the crucifixion and, behind it, Isaiah 53:5's promise that by his stripes we are healed. The bridge names exactly who the invitation is for: "the bruised and fallen, captives bound and brokenhearted," language that echoes Psalm 34:18's assurance that God stays near to the brokenhearted rather than at a distance from them.

What keeps the song from feeling like a general worship phrase is how concrete it gets about the cost — hands, brow, side, stripes, ransom — before it ever repeats the title line. By the time "love is here" comes back one last time, it's carrying all of that specific weight rather than functioning as an abstract slogan.
