O Come All Ye Faithful

Amy Grant sings this eighteenth-century Latin hymn's English translation in its shortest common form, opening with the same repeated invitation every version uses: "O come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant, O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem."

"Come and behold Him, born the King of Angels" sets the terms plainly — not just hearing about the birth, but going to see it directly, the same movement Luke's shepherds make after the angels' announcement.

"Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing" compresses John's Gospel opening into four words, the same theological claim nearly every carol in this cadence eventually reaches for. Grant keeps the arrangement simple and the repeated chorus, "O come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord," doing most of the song's work — an instruction repeated until it becomes the point itself.
