Palm Of Your Hand

City Harvest Church and Maverick City Music open with honesty about control: "Spinning out of control, I feel it / Losing my defenses." The verse admits twice that "it's not easy letting go / And trusting You," even after God has said He's got it. Nothing is wrapped up quickly; the first answer is a short instruction to "stop, breathe, rest here in Your goodness."

The chorus gives that rest a place: "Here I am in the palm of Your hand / Nothing can take me away." Confidence rests on a repeated promise rather than on feeling steady, and the line "It's my confidence" is repeated for emphasis. The bridge names what cannot pry the singer loose: "Not a height, or a depth / Not a lie inside my head / Not a fear or offense."

Height and depth in the bridge borrow from Romans 8:38-39, while the palm image fits John 10:28, where no one snatches the sheep from Christ's hand. Psalm 46:10 supports the stillness of "stop, breathe, rest."
