Healer

Evan Craft's “Healer” is a worship song that asks for miracles and sings as though they are already underway. The first verse recalls a promise, “You said if we believe, then greater things would come,” and asks God to pour out his Spirit “like a river, like a flood” to deliver every heart, body, soul and mind. All the darkness, it says, bows before the feet of Christ.

The chorus names the one doing the work: “The Healer's in this place. Jesus, You are moving in our praise. There's freedom in Your name.” The second verse repeats the idea of believing and asks to see the kingdom come and God's will be done. It adds that Jesus has defeated death and remains our living hope, and that we believe His Word because He is the God of miracles. The bridge makes specific requests. The blind should see his glory and the dead should rise, there is power in the mighty name of Jesus, mourning should turn to dancing and fear should be silenced in praise. Evan Craft is known for bilingual worship, and the plain, repeating phrases here make the song easy for different congregations to sing. It suits a prayer time for the sick and for anyone who needs to start by declaring what they trust before they see an answer.

All things being possible for one who believes is Mark 9:23. The Lord as healer is Exodus 15:26, and mourning turned into dancing is Psalm 30:11.
