You Are My Sunshine

JJ Heller's rendition of "You Are My Sunshine" is a gentle, acoustic cover of the classic American folk song. While the original is often sung as a lullaby or love song, Heller's version can be interpreted as a prayerful expression of dependence on God, referring to Him as the source of joy and light in difficult times. The repeated plea "Please don't take my sunshine away" echoes a childlike trust and fear of losing God's presence. The song is simple and repetitive, focusing on the comfort and happiness found in a beloved figure, which in a Christian context points to God's unwavering love and faithfulness.
