Dancing Through The Fire

Jordan Feliz's “Dancing Through The Fire” is an upbeat song about trusting through trouble. The opening lines set the scope, “in the dark nights, in the clear skies, I know I'll never be alone,” and cover “every mountain and every valley.” Celebrating “even in the hard times” is presented as a response to being held, not as denial.

The pre-chorus gives the foundation: “Nothing can separate us from Your love, neither death nor life or the fears of this world can steal the joy that comes from Your love.” The chorus makes the image physical, “we'll be dancing through the fire, Your love will take us higher.” The second verse borrows strong language, “a mighty fortress, my strength and defense, my shelter in the battlefield,” and the ending admits the difficulty. “All that You do is for my good, even when I can't see it,” followed by the plain “Lord, I believe it.”

Nothing separating the believer from God's love is Romans 8:38-39. The fortress and defense lines recall Psalm 18:2, and God's presence through fire and flood is Isaiah 43:2.
