Fear Not

God speaks in the first person throughout. The opening pictures someone overwhelmed, with a cry in the throat and waves below, before the voice answers, "Stand still and believe, I won't let you drown." The refrain is simply "Fear not," followed by a line that sounds almost parental: "If I could say it any louder, I would."

A short middle section shifts the tone. "You can't dream too big for Me" invites the listener to "get up, get on your way," and "We've got things to do today" makes the command feel like companionship instead of pressure. The final verse asks the listener to remember what was said, keep eyes fixed ahead when questions arise, and hold to the promise "That I love you."

The closing refrains swap "say" for "shout," a small escalation that shows how much the voice wants to be heard. Isaiah 41:10 and Isaiah 43:2 carry the same assurance of God's presence in deep water, and Matthew 14:27 has Jesus telling frightened disciples on a stormy sea, "Take heart; it is I; do not be afraid."
