See A Victory

Confidence in the middle of conflict drives this LifePoint Worship song. Verse one declares "The weapon may be formed, but it won't prosper" and rests that claim on God's character: the God the singer serves "knows only how to triumph." A repeated "My God will never fail" leads into the chorus, "I'm gonna see a victory / For the battle belongs to You, Lord."

Verse two shifts from defense to the name of Jesus. "There's power in the mighty name of Jesus," the singer says, and "I'm not backing down from any giant / 'Cause I know how this story ends." The bridge supplies the reasoning behind that assurance: "You take what the enemy meant for evil and You turn it for good," sung twice over.

Three passages sit behind the lyrics. Isaiah 54:17 promises that no weapon formed against God's people will prosper, 2 Chronicles 20:15 tells Judah the battle is God's rather than theirs, and Genesis 50:20 supplies the line about evil meant for harm and turned to good. The tone is settled and defiant, written for anyone facing a giant who needs a congregation-sized answer.
